Important Note
: We can either supply your locks "keyed alike" (all the keys will open any of the locks), or we can supply them "keyed different" (each lock has its own pair of keys that do not fit any of the other locks). We only have these in a handful of different key numbers, therefore we can only provide (2) full purchase lots that are all keyed different. We can ship the full quantity available in this listing (and probably more) if you want them "keyed alike."
We will ship all locks purchased in this listing "keyed alike" (key number N005) unless you tell us otherwise when you send your payment.
These were purchased from an industrial liquidator last year, and they were factory new and clean in the original 31-Lb boxes. We repackaged them in heavy Ziplok bags for resale. They were manufactured by Penn Lock Corporation in Swoyersville, PA, in the good ol' USA (imagine that). The locks are designed to fit a 3/4" diameter hole. The cam lever will rotate when mounted in material up to 7/8" thick, however, the mounting nut will need to be recessed (to allow full engagement of the body threads) for mounting in material thicker than about 5/8." Naturally, you can adapt them to thicker or thinner material by shimming or trimming the material in which they are mounted. The lock rotation is 90 degrees from locked to open.
The keys can only be removed at the 12:00 position, which prevents the lock from being inadvertently left unlocked. However, since the cam lever is mounted on a square shaft, it can be repositioned in any of four different directions. Thus, "12:00" on the key face can correspond to a cam lever position of either 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, or 9:00. Additionally, there is a small square-centered washer beneath the cam lever. It can be rotated 90 degrees to make the lock open with either a Left Hand or Right Hand key turn.
The craftsmanship is superb in every way, and they are light years ahead of the cheap imported stuff. These quality locks have a zillion uses, but our stash won't last forever, so lay up a supply today.
